Berta Sala (Barcelona, 1997) is in contact with music since she is little. She studies classical piano in Conservatori de Manresa and when she is 13 starts to sing in a Jazz Band and to take singing lessons from Cesleste Alías.
She graduates in 2019 at the Conservatori del Liceu de Barcelona in the specialty of Jazz and Modern Singing with the teacher Carme Canela. She was doing a one-year course, with Jolande Geven as a teacher, in ArtEZ – University of the Arts, in Arnhem, the Netherlands. It is worth pointing out that she was given a two-years scholarship by Fundació Ferrer Salat for her studies in Conservatori del Liceu.
She has taken part in workshops and masterclasses with international musicians such as Joey Blake, Becca Stevens, Cyrille Aimee, Michael Kannan, Chris Cheek or Judy Niemack.
She has performed in the 48th International Jazz Festival of Barcelona (2016) and in the Festival Castell de Peralada (2017), as well as in different events in Teatre Kursaal, in Palau de la Música or in Cripta Gaudí.
At present she is leading her own project of original compositions with a quartet, with whom published the CD “Hertogstraat” (Segell Microscopi, 2020).
